Big honor for Crist

With six of the 12 NIKE Camps and three of the six EA SPORTS Elite 11 QB Regional Camps completed, the selection process for the 2007 Elite 11 Quarterback Campetition has officially begun. Getting one of the first two nods was Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame signal caller Dayne Crist.
For the Crist, having the Elite 11 in his background growing up meant it became a goal of his early on.

"I first heard about the Elite 11 when I was playing Pop Warner and it became a goal of mine my freshman year," Crist recalled Thursday when informed he'd been selected to the '07 Elite 11.
"(Current USC QB) Mark Sanchez made it that year and I thought to myself, 'he's a local kid who made the camp, that would be great if one day I could make it as well.' I've followed it every year and always thought it would be special to be a part of that group."
What was Crist's reaction when he realized he was being selected to the final Elite 11?
"I'm in awe and very excited. I'm flattered to be chosen for the camp because it's something that I wanted to participate in for such a long time. This is very special to me and like I said, I'm just so excited."
The 6-5, 228 pound Notre Dame commit is already thinking about some goals and what he'd like to take out of the late July event.
"I want to come out of the camp being the top quarterback there," Criss added. "I love competition and can't wait to compete against the other top quarterbacks from all over the country.
"I'm sure everyone there will have the same goal and that's to be recognized as the best guy in the camp. This is the ultimate opportunity to prove yourself against some great quarterbacks and I can't wait to get out there and see where I stack up."
Crist earned his invite after a strong showing at the SoCal NIKE Camp. He shows very well on film but his upside potential is off the charts and he should do very well at the Elite 11 camp in July.
