Big Georgia DT picking up offers

Every year there are certain schools in certain states that are going to produce Division I prospects. One of those schools is Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern and this year is no exception. Perhaps, the biggest name on their roster is Etta-Etta Tawo.
“I finally picked up my first scholarship offer,” said Tawo. “My first offer came from Clemson a little over a week ago and since then Auburn, Maryland and Stanford have also offered.”

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound defensive tackle was scheduled to attend the NIKE camp at Georgia Tech, but had to attend a special Saturday practice with his high school team.
“When the offer from Clemson came I was really excited because I had been waiting on that first one a while. I told my mom and she was jumping around screaming and all excited. It was a great moment for my family.”
As a junior Tawo picked up 60 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and three sacks. He also earned all-county and all-region honors in his junior campaign.
“My favorites right now are Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Southern Miss and Stanford. I don’t really have a favorite. Georgia is really showing a lot of interest. Coach Bobo called the other night and we talked a while.”
Tawo runs an impressive 4.97 40-yard dash, boasts a 310 bench press and 455 pound squat.
“Two college coaches have been at every one of our spring practices. There hasn’t been a lot everyday, just a consistent number everyday. I have also talked to coach Nall from Auburn and a coach from Stanford on the phone.”
A solid student in the classroom, Tawo holds a 3.22 GPA.
