"I don't have any scholarship offers, but I am getting a lot of letters, some e-mails, stuff like that," Hine said.
Central Florida, South Florida, Duke, Auburn, Louisville and Iowa all have been in some sort of contact with the 6-foot-3, 296-pounder.
Hine grew up pulling for the Florida Gators.
"That was my favorite school growing up," Hine said. "I'm going to try to get in touch with them."
There are several factors that Hine believes makes him a Division I-A prospect.
"I'm big and strong and pretty fast," he said. "I like to try and overpower my opponent and keep my feet moving on the field."
Hine attended the Rivals.com Junior Day on April 1 at Bishop Moore High in Orlando.
"I learned a lot of stuff today about the general recruiting process and the official visits," he said. "It was good stuff."
Hine, who wants to major in some field of business or music, hopes to attend the Gainesville NIKE Camp April 20 on the campus of the University of Florida.
