Big DT Hoping For Offer

One of the biggest mysteries around recruiting this year is why more teams haven't offered 6-foot-4, 315-pound defensive tackle Ron Darden?
"I don't know," said Darden who played in the US Army All-American game as one of the best players in the east. "I have offers from East Carolina and William & Mary and Virginia, Maryland and Penn State have all shown interest."

Darden, who plays for Glen Burnie High School in Maryland, has already visited both East Carolina and William & Mary and takes a trip to his favorite this weekend.
"I'm going to Virginia this weekend," he said. "They're far and away my top choice and if they were to offer, I'd commit. If they don't offer, I'll visit Maryland and Penn State and then see who has offered me."
Darden is being recruited by all his favorites as a defensive tackle although he could also play along the offensive line.
"I played both ways this season and was in on almost every play," he said. "That's probably why my defensive numbers aren't as good as some others."
Darden made over 80 tackles as a senior with 10 sacks.
