Hamden, Conn. defensive tackle Eric Ball has one big-time offer and he knows one thing, he's not going far from home.
"Eric has received an offer from Boston College and has one from Hofstra as well," said his father, Vincent. "He's also received interest from Syracuse, UConn as well as teams like Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan State and some others but we're keeping him close to home. He won't go far away to school I know that much."
Ball, who has nearly 10 sacks so far this season as a defensive tackle and plenty of pancake blocks on offense, is waiting on his test score before he can set his visits.
"We won't schedule any trips until he qualifies," his father said. "His GPA is up to around a 2.5 so he doesn't need a super high score."
Academics have held back some offers from Ball, a 6-foot-5, 290-pounder being recruited on both sides of the ball.
"Boston College wants him as an offensive tackle and a few others want him for defense," Vincent said. "He just wants a place where he can feel at home and I want him to go someplace where they'll look after him. Boston College is right at the top of the list right now."
