Big day for Daniel

Jacob Daniel's nap was interrupted by a phone call. It was a coach from LSU with an unexpected offer for the Fresno (Calif.) Clovis North defensive tackle.
The four-star will definitely take the shortened snooze for that surprising news.

"That's crazy," Daniel said. "I wasn't even going to expect that. Again, that changes a lot, too, along with the A&M offer. That changes a lot of what I am thinking recruiting-wise.
"Now I'm thinking they're in the picture. Now they're going to be coming after me. I have to see what they have to offer for me. That's a big thing. With putting people in the NFL, that's crazy what they've been able to do."
It was a big day for Daniel, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound prospect who's rated ninth at his position and No. 83 in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, especially since he also landed an offer from Texas A&M earlier on.
The Aggies will definitely be considered as well by Daniel, who also has USC, Stanford, Oregon and Notre Dame pretty high on his list.
"A&M is kind of the same thing," Daniel said. "They're in the SEC and the academics are pretty good there for me as well. That is another thing to think about with A&M.
"I had been talking to A&M. I've been talking to coach (Jeff) Banks but that was my first time ever talking to LSU."
Daniel is also fresh off an unofficial visit to Stanford. He definitely was impressed and wants to make a return trip but things are opening up even more with the new SEC offers coming in on Wednesday.
"They took us around the school," Daniel said of Stanford.
"We got to sit in a class and that was pretty interesting. They showed us all their facilities and we got to meet coach (David) Shaw. It was a really impressive place. It was beautiful up there. I want to go back."
