Big Dawg: Top performers

Recruiting wrap: Crowell has committed to Ole Miss.
Performance: The Meridian standout just seemed to be toying with the opposition. First was his build, which was very impressive. He was one of the stronger receivers, if not the strongest, in attendance. He was also one of the quickest and most explosive. His routes were precise and his timing was impecable. On one route in particular, a DB had great position, only to mistime the jump. That's when Crowell reached around the defender to make the catch.

CB
Cameron Dantzler
Hammond (La.) St. Thomas Aquinas
Recruiting wrap: Dantzler has committed to Mississippi State.
Performance: Dantzler has made some huge strides over the last several months and it showed at Big Dawg camp. He is a long and lean defensive back, and he has some smooth footwork. He was also one of the more physical defensive backs and he was quick to jam up receiver after receiver at the line of scrimmage. He then used that length to get a hand on the ball and make up ground.

ATH
Nero Nelson
Hollandale (Miss.) Simmons
Recruiting wrap: Nelson has committed to Mississippi State.
Performance: Nelson can play either side of the ball, but he spent his time on defense at Big Dawg. During one-on-one's, he made several plays as receivers gave up on going deep and tried to work short slants. He was able to get strong position and knock down several passes and showed some very physical play.

CB
C.J. Morgan-Walker
Bossier City (La.) Parkway
Recruiting wrap: Morgan-Walker has committed to Mississippi State.
Performance: On the hoof, Morgan-Walker was one of the most impressive. He has added some very nice muscle to his frame and he continues to be one of the most solid all-around performers whenever we see him. At Mississippi State, he showed great burst out of his breaks, good balance, and strong technique.

OG
Lavante Epson (2017)
Greenville (Miss.) Washington
Recruiting wrap: Epson holds scholarship offers from Mississippi State and Alabama.
Performance: Epson worked at both center and guard and he was the only prospect to get a decisive win over Simmons. His quick hands and strong punch allowed him to lock onto defenders, anchor and drive. He kept a strong base and was able to lock out the best the camp had to offer.

ATH
D.D. Bowie (2017)
Morton, Miss.
Recruiting wrap: Bowie is committed to Alabama.
Performance: Not everything was text book, but there was a lot to like. His quick feet definitely turned heads as he kept defenders guessing on where he would be next. He also has some very nice size and showed some good hands. However, it was the quick footwork that really made everyone take notice on Friday night.

WR
Tobias Enlow
North Little Rock, Ark.
Recruiting wrap: ULM and UCA are the two most recent offers for Enlow, who is attracting attention from several other top programs.
Performance: Enlow may not be the fastest and he may not be the biggest, but he was definitely polished and precise. His route running was some of the best, and he was consistently able to create separation. He also showed some nice body control as he turned and made quick adjustments to the ball.
9
WR
Malik Heath (2018)
Jackson (Miss.) Callaway
Recruiting wrap: Heath recently added offers from Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
Performance: Heath was working on a sore ankle, but that did not stop him from making a very strong impression. He has some great size (6-3, 190) for his age and he is very coordinated. He ran some crisp routes on the day and he extended to make the catch away from his body. He does a great job of attacking the ball at it's highest point in jump ball situations.
10
DT
Kobe Jones
Starkville, Miss.
Recruiting wrap: Jones hopes to visit Georgia and LSU this summer and holds scholarship offers from Alabama, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss.
Performance: Jones is a big-bodied defensive lineman capable of playing inside or outside. His quick first step allows him to get a leg up on most competition and his solid build allows him to get physical on the inside. He won the majority of his reps in one-on-ones.
11
OG
Gentle Williams
Florence, Ala.
Recruiting wrap: Southern Miss and California are recruiting Williams the hardest right now.
Performance: Williams' hair allowed him to standout before he ever took a rep, but he also showed he could play at a high level. Williams is a little light in the seat, but he had some of the quickest feet and hands and he was able to use that to his advantage. He also did a great job of maintaining leverage and washing out defenders who chose their path too quick.
12
WR
John Michael Hankerson
South Bend (Ind.) Washington
Recruiting wrap: Hankerson currently holds offers from Mississippi State, Indiana, Illinois State, Bowling Green, and Western Michigan.
Performance: Hankerson made quick and precise cuts during drills and he did a great job of locating the ball and getting upfield during drills. In one-on-ones, he consistently created separation and his big hands seemed to suck up anything in reach.
