Big Carolina WR on the radar

Columbia (S.C.) Ridge View wide receiver Brandon King is a prospect that may have gotten lost in the shuffle of a move from Missouri to South Carolina after his junior season.
The 6-foot-5, 182-pounder was not on anyone's list in the Palmetto State for this year's class prior to showing that he had legitimate skills at the Athens NIKE Camp on April 29. He subsequently gotten looks from several college programs.

"A lot of schools came by (during the May evaluation period) to see me," King said. "Virginia came by, Kentucky, South Carolina, Clemson and Middle Tennessee State. I also got a letter from Wake Forest."
King, who is looking for his first scholarship offer, plans to camp at South Carolina and Middle Tennessee State this summer. He says that the Gamecocks are among several of the schools he is interested in the most.
"I live in South Carolina, so going to USC games I like the atmosphere," King said. "Plus, the recruiting coach from South Carolina is real down-to-Earth."
Clemson, Kentucky and Virginia also are in the lead group for King at this time.
King posted a 4.12 second shuttle time at the Athens camp and showed off that quickness in the one-on-one drills against defensive backs.
"I think in the SPARQ drills and with the position coaches, I didn't do as good as I did in the one-on-one drills," King said. "I didn't stand out as much as I did in the one-on-ones."
