Big 2015 Safety sees pace quicken

Dallas (Texas) Skyline safety Kylan Johnson is easy to spot. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound defender, who is also known as K.C., is a big, intimidating presence in the Raiders' secondary, and he is beginning to see the pace pick up on his recruitment.
In early April Johnson received his first scholarship offer from the UCLA Bruins. It caught him by surprise.

"It did," Johnson said. "I didn't even know what to say. It was a shocker. They told me to text them and call them and I've been texting them and stuff. I'm going to try and call them sometime this week before we start spring on Friday."
Then a few days later the Wisconsin Badgers were on the phone with a scholarship offer.
"That was a shocker too," Johnson said. "I just got a phone call and I was like dang."
He has not had a chance to speak much with Wisconsin, but he plans to change that this week.
With two offers on the table, Johnson is taking in each and every opportunity.
"I'm just trying to see where it's going to go from here," Johnson said. "I want to try and go down to UCLA and Wisconsin since they're the ones that have offered me right now. So I want to see what that's like right now. And hopefully, my recruiting stays fired up and keeps coming."
In addition to UCLA and Wisconsin, schools such as Arkansas, Oregon, Oregon State, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech have been in communication, and Johnson is looking at taking a few visits this summer.
"I'm going to try and check out TCU and I'm going to try, and make my way down to UCLA sometime in the summer," Johnson said. "My sister wants to go down there, so I think I'm going to go with her."
It is still early in the recruiting process for Johnson, and he is not rushing into anything at this point. He is not ready to name leaders, and he is also not ready to think about when he would like to decide.
"I can't really say," Johnson said. "I'm just going to wait."
