Cole Luke said it's still early in the recruiting process and he's taking his time with everything but Oklahoma definitely made a big impression when it offered and the Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton currently has the Sooners in front.
"They're at the top right now," Luke said. "I look at all of them equally but they do stand out pretty much right now. It's a good football team.
"I do have family up there so I might take a visit. There is a possibility of me taking an unofficial there flying out to see family and then going there or just waiting to take an official visit later on."
So far, the four-star cornerback lists offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Purdue and Washington and he's hearing from some other major programs like Texas, Oregon and Michigan State.
Former Arizona assistant coach Tim Kish is the new assistant defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the Sooners but Luke said he never had a relationship with Kish so that's not a major deal in his recruitment.
What stands out most about Oklahoma to Luke, rated No. 198 in the early 2013 rankings by Rivals.com, is that it has a phenomenal football program that competes for national championships.
Getting the offer from Oklahoma was definitely a big deal.
"A day before they offered me my coach told me he just got done talking to them and they should be officially offering me soon," Luke said.
"The next day in class he called them for me and he was talking to them for a few minutes and I talked to Tim Kish and he said they saw my film and they wanted to offer me."
Other than his recent unofficial visit to Arizona State, Luke has not been to any other campuses. He doesn't have plans at this time for any other trips.
