Big 12 looking at Tampa DE

Tampa (Fla.) Wharton defensive end Dino Cox has begun to receive attention from Big 12 football program by way of mail.
"I've starting getting letters from a couple of Division I-AA schools and one Division I-A school," Cox said. "The University of Kansas has sent me some mail."

The 6-foot-2, 221-pounder is a versatile defensive line prospect.
"I'm more of a run stopper, but I'm still effective in pass rushing," Cox said. "I can also play on the outside or on the interior of the defensive line. I'm a good all-around defensive player."
Cox has big goals for the 2006 season.
"We're looking forward to making it to state or to the playoffs," Cox said. "We have a lot of defensive players coming back next year. So, I'd say we will have a better year than we did last year."
Cox, who grew up a Miami Hurricanes fan, attended the Rivals.com Junior Day on April 1 at Bishop Moore High in Orlando, Fla.
"I learned how to make better decisions," Cox said. "I also learned which combines and camps to go to and how to get more attention from college coaches.
"I learned a lot."
Cox had 66 tackles and eight sacks in 2005.
