Keishawn Bierria emerged in the last few weeks at the IMG Madden 7-on-7 West Regional in Redondo Beach, Calif., and since then the Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne linebacker landed his first Pac-12 offer.
But even with offers from San Diego State and now Colorado, Bierria said he still plans to take his recruitment slowly especially since he hasn't taken many visits yet.
A planned trip to San Diego State in the last couple weeks did not materialize but the 6-foot-1, 210-pound recruit does expect to get down there soon.
"We missed it because something happened with one of our coaches," Bierria said. "We missed going down there. We're planning to go down sometime soon."
It is still in the early stages between Bierria and Colorado since he hasn't even talked with any members of the coaching staff yet.
Since the Buffaloes offered, though, the Harbor City Narbonne standout said he wants to get to know the coaches much better and could call soon.
"I just woke up one day and it was on one of the Web sites and I got a call from my coach later in the day and he said Colorado decided to offer," Bierria said.
"I haven't talked to any coaches from Colorado but my coaches have."
Bierria, who plays with the B2G Five-Star team on the 7-on-7 circuit, said he's been receiving interest from Iowa State, Iowa, Oregon State and Nebraska.
There's a good chance once more coaches get to see him in action that more offers could come in and that's one reason why Bierria is waiting to make his decision.
"I'm just taking it slow," Bierria said. "I'm just trying to weigh my options and see which ones I like best. I don't really have a favorite between the two of them."
