Bielema era starts with a bang

Let the Bret Bielema recruiting era begin. After announcing that Bielema was going to become the new coach of the Wisconsin Badgers after this season, Bielema has landed his first commitment from an in-state sleeper that has gone under the recruiting radar.
Verona, Wis., defensive end Kirk DeCremercommitted on Sunday to special teams coach Brian Murphy. He announced the pledge on Monday after receiving the official offer late last week.

"It was great to be wanted and become part of the new direction they're taking," DeCremer said. "Coach Bielema said I was his first commitment, and it was kind of nice to be part of something special."
Something special is what DeCremer might develop into. The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder is a two-way starter for Verona. He is also a solid basketball player with a reported 40-yard dash time of 4.8 seconds.
Ball State and Central Michigan were the other teams to offer him before he made the commitment.
