Bianchi a top 2009 tight end

Tight end Tom Bianchi is one of the most physically impressive prospects at his position in the Class of 2009. He performed well at the National Underclassmen Combine earlier this summer and recently had an opportunity to check out one of his favorites. What does the future hold for Bianchi?
The 6-foot-3, 230 pound prospect from North Caldwell (N.J.) West Essex has run the 40-yard dash in as fast as 4.62 seconds. His father recently gave a recap of his summer and what he fall schedule looks like.

"Tom won an MVP award at the National Underclassmen Combine earlier this summer so that was pretty big for him," said his father, also named Tom Bianchi. "We had a brand new combine in this area that he attended recently.
"Just last week he had a chance to take an informal visit to Boston College. He walked around and met the coaches. All in all it was a great trip."
According to Bianchi's father, the rising junior from West Essex would find it very difficult to turn down an offer from the Eagles.
"Being from around here (he likes) schools like Boston College and Penn State," he said. "I think for either of those schools to offer he'll need a strong junior season. We're hoping he plays well and the coaches are impressed by the film they get from us.
"Boston College is definitely his favorite. He's had a picture of their stadium, filled up and everything, above his bed for years. He loved the visit there just recently, so they would be very tough to beat."
Bianchi said he is a shade below 6-foot-3 so how much he grows will determine whether he stays at tight end or moves to outside linebacker or perhaps even defensive end.
"If he gets his height up to around 6-foot-4 or 6-foot-5 then tight end shouldn't be a problem for him and that's what we're hoping for," his father said. "I know at the combines he's been lining up as a receiver so physically he's really good. That's probably his best asset."
