Bethel has talent in 2011

Hampton (Va.) Bethel is home to a handful of recruits in 2011. Leading the way is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound defensive end who's already getting looks from a number of colleges.
Defensive end Cris Copeland is getting looks so far from Virginia, Duke and NC State according to head coach Jeff Nelson.

"He's a tough and real smart kid with a 3.5 GPA," he said. "He works hard in the classroom and the weight room. He's tough nosed and is quick off the ball. The thing is, he is going to get faster.
"Off the field, he's humble and a great kid. He's a great leader for us."
Joining Copeland at Bethel for 2011 is 6-foot-0, 200-pound fullback Samuel Bennette.
"He's a great kid," he said. "He transferred to us last year and is a hard runner. He's got all the tools. He can catch the ball, block and run. He's got good speed and when he lowers that shoulder, he's one of those old type of runners. He runs north and south."
Bennette posted 400-yards rushing as a junior last season.
Nelson claims he is receiving looks from a handful of schools including NC State and Delaware.
Rounding out the group is a 6-foot-5, 215-pound defensive end, Joe Goodwin.
"He's pretty quick and took this past year off because of basketball. He ought to get some interest."
