Best Friends Depart, Dennard a Cat

In what is somewhat surprising, best friends B.J. Dennard (6-1, 180, 4.45) and Uriah Marshall (6-0, 180, 4.4) from Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep will part ways. Dennard committed to ASU archrival Arizona. Marshall of course committed to ASU a couple of weeks ago.
“My best friend and I, Uriah Marshall are going to knock heads,” Dennard said. “We are best friends off the field but when we get on the field representing our teams we are going to knock heads. We are going to make collisions.”

“Uriah was one of the first people I called,” Dennard said. “I told him I’m going to be a Wildcat and he started laughing.”
“Uriah said if that is the best place for me,” Dennard said. “He told me to do my thing.”
“The reason I chose Arizona,” Dennard said. “Is because, God forbid, anything would happen to me where I couldn’t play football, I would want to go to school there.”
“I love coach (Mike) Stoops,” Dennard said. “I chose Arizona because it is almost like playing for my Dad. Coach Stoops and my Dad hit it off real well.”
“The funny the thing is I was at my Grandma’s house watching TV with my cousin (former ASU Sun Devil and now Arizona Rattler) Ryan Dennard when they announced that Mike Stoops was announced head coach for Arizona.”
“I was just fooling around with my cousin and said I would like to play for a man like Mike Stoops,” Dennard said. “Three minutes after I said Coach Stoops was on the phone wanting to talk to me.”
The Arizona Wildcats win this intense recruiting battle over archrival ASU, Nebraska and more.
