Bergsten decides to make pledge

About four or five months ago, UNLV offered Tyler Bergsten and this past weekend the Phoenix (Ariz.) Greenway tight end finally got to visit. Everything went so well that Bergsten decided to end his recruitment by committing.
Bergsten, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect, said he was especially impressed with coach Bobby Hauck and his staff which just finished its first season in Las Vegas.

"UNLV is really an up-and-coming program," Bergsten said. "I loved the coaches and everything they talked to me about.
"They really know what they're doing. It's a great fit for me as a recruit. Whatever plans they have for me, I'll do practically whatever it takes to be a winning program and get to some bowl games.
"I love the fact that they're disciplined coaches. That's what we'll need. I'm glad that it will be a disciplined team that will keep all the players in line."
Bergsten said he will be utilized as a tight end and halfback where he can line up in the backfield, can be used in motion and line up as a traditional tight end to run routes down the field.
Northern Arizona was his first offer during his junior season and Northern Colorado also got involved but Bergsten said after visiting UNLV and meeting the coaching staff this past weekend that it was by far the best fit.
San Jose State offered Monday but Bergsten had already made up his mind.
"UNLV offered me about four or five months ago so they offered me around midseason and NAU offered me my junior year," Bergsten said.
"That was my first offer. After the visit to UNLV I felt really comfortable with it. On Monday, San Jose State called and gave me an offer but that's out of the picture now."
