Benton has three on top

Markail Benton is in no rush whatsoever. The Montgomery (Ala.) Park Crossing High School linebacker is just a junior. He doesn't plan to announce his commitment until Signing Day 2017. In his mind, college recruitment is not exactly a pressing issue.

Still, none of that has stopped him from establishing a loose pecking order. Frontrunners? Benton has them … even at such an early stage.
"I'd have to say Alabama, Auburn and Florida State are the top three," Benton said. That's just for now. Those are the top three."
Benton's most recent visit was to Alabama for the Tide's recent game with LSU. He says that location won't play a part in his eventual decision. A four-star prospect, Benton holds 12 scholarship offers as things stand now and that total is likely to increase.

WHAT'S NEXT?:Benton will visit Auburn for the Tiger's game with Georgia. He has no other visits on the docket at the time being
IN HIS WORDS: "With Alabama, they have an amazing atmosphere on game day," Benton said. "I like the campus. At Auburn, I really like the coaches, With Florida State, I like my position coach and they have a great campus."
RIVALS' REACTION: Pulling Benton out of Alabama will be difficult. Florida State has laid nice groundwork with the four-star linebacker but extracting a high-level player from the grasps of Auburn and Alabama is difficult. The in-state schools have to be seen as the favorites for the time being.
