Benjamin sets decision date

TAMPA, Fla. - While he wasn't participating in USF's Sling and Shoot, Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Bay Tech three-star wide receiver Richard Benjamin made his way to the local school on Sunday afternoon for a visit. It marked just his most recent visit in the past couple weeks.
"I visited Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, and Auburn," Benjamin said.

Benjamin's tour of ACC and SEC schools came during a bus tour. One specific school made a major move with the 6-foot-1, 195-pound wideout.
"Clemson really impressed me," Benjamin said. "I just like the school, the atmosphere, and the offensive scheme. I liked everything about it. I really liked the coaches. I liked Clemson a lot."
Dabo Swinney and his staff spoke at-length with Benjamin.
"They said their interest in me is very high," Benjamin said. "They said I am a good player and my head is on straight."
In addition to the Tigers, Benjamin says he is heavily considering a few other schools.
"I am also looking a lot at UCF and USF," Benjamin said. "They are in my top three with Clemson. They aren't in any kind of order. Auburn is also in there."
Benjamin recently traveled to UCF on a visit, along with Seffner (Fla.) Armwood four-star wide receiver Alvin Bailey. He talked about his time around the Knights.
"I learned that the coaching style for the receivers is very good," Benjamin said. "I learned they have produced some great receivers like Brandon Marshall, others. There are a lot of good people that have come through there that people don't know about."
As for USF, his most recent visit, they are a familiar school to the Tampa-area prospect.
"It is the hometown school," Benjamin said. "I could eat a home cooked meal. It is like a family bond here."
Benjamin said that he is likely done with visits prior to the time he plans to make his announcement. He has a date in mind for when he will end the process.
"I think July 3rd," Benjamin said.
