Beltre visits Duke, more visits coming

Defensive end Frank Beltre out of Randolph, N.J. visited his lone Division I offer a couple weeks back. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder is looking at heading to a few more schools in the near future.
"I went to Duke two weeks ago and I loved it," he said. "I loved the facilities and they took good care of us. It was great.

"I got to talk to coach Roof and the linebackers coach. They actually want to switch me to linebacker which doesn't bother me at all. Some schools say I'm a little small for defensive end. I'll play wherever they put me even if that's kicker. I also was very impressed with their academics. I knew they were good, but didn't realize they were that good."
Obviously the visit impressed the Garden State prospect. Does Duke lead for his services?
"It puts them right up there," he said. "I'd say Rutgers is there even though I haven't talked to them too much. I just have a connection with the coaches. They were really trying to get me up to their camp soon."
This weekend, Beltre is considering visits to Rutgers and Connecticut.
One other school that is interested is Northwestern.
"They are waiting to see some of my senior season and then they'll take it from there."
Without any clear favorites, what is Beltre looking for in a college?
"I want to play and then academically I just want to get a good education."
Beltre picked up his second offer not too long ago from Towson.
