"There have been a lot of mail and emails," Bellamy said. "Out of all of them, I would have to say Maryland and Minnesota (are showing the most interest) right now."
With Maryland set to enter Big Ten play, their coaching staff has been more visible in the Midwest over the last several months. Bellamy is looking to repay their interest with a visit later this month.
"I might be going to Maryland's junior day in two weeks," he said. "I talked to the head coach a few times. He was talking about their program, the facilities, how they run their offense and how I could be a great fit. He was making sure my grades were right, and all that stuff."
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Bellamy does not have any immediate plans to visit Minnesota, but is interested in what he has heard from the Gopher's coaching staff thus far.
"I know they had a pretty nice season this year," Bellamy said. "They said I would be a great fit for their program too. They look for smaller backs."
Besides Minnesota and Maryland, Bellamy also received in-school visits from the likes of N.C. State, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue and Notre Dame in January.
