Bell ready for last official

Running back George Bell has taken his visits earlier in the year than most prospects. Over the weekend he was on an official visit to Virginia Tech. How did he like it?
"It's a real nice place," said Bell. "I had a really good time. Vince Hall showed me around and I was impressed with everything I saw. I really like the way they play. They have so much energy out there on the field. I think they're going to be real good, at least as long as Coach Beamer is there. It's a good offense for running backs. They were really realistic and didn't try to make any promises they couldn't keep."

Was the visit enough to bump the Hokies to the top of his list?
"They're at the top with two others," he said. "NC State and Michigan are the other two I'm looking really hard at. Before the visit I was really just looking at NC State and Michigan, but they opened my eyes when I was up there."
The 5-foot-11, 225-pound back from Fayetteville (N.C.) Jack Britt has everything a coach could want in a runner. He hasn't played this year because of an ACL injury that occurred last year.
"We're basically playing it safe until we're sure it's 100-percent. It's just not worth it to go out there and ruin my football career. When I'm positive it's back to the way it was before the injury, I'll play. It might be this year or it might not be. But I'm glad coaches are sticking with me and have left their offers there."
Bell will make his decision on October 23rd, but he might take another visit between now and then.
"I think I might go up to Virginia this weekend to see their game against Florida State. I'm not positive about that but there's a good chance. I've heard from them all along so I figure it can't hurt to at least visit."
