Several prospects in the eastern part of the country have commented that Colorado has recruited them hard this year. Athlete J.J. Bedle is one of those players, and Colorado is moving up his list.
"I've been hearing a lot from Colorado," said Bedle. "They've been recruiting me for a while, but I'm just now starting to hear from them a lot. One of the biggest factors in my decision will be how much a team throws the ball, and it's good to see their quarterback has had some big passing games. I want to play right away and they think I could do that either as a receiver or on defense."
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound receiver/cornerback from Keyport, N.J. runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds. Who else is Bedle interested in?
"Michigan State is still one of my favorites," he said. "They just keep on winning. I like the offense they have this year. They throw the ball a lot and give receivers a chance to make plays.
"Syracuse has probably shown me more interest than anyone else so far. They're up there. I'm still interested in Pitt too. I don't have as much interest in Boston College as I used to have."
Does Bedle plan on taking all of his visits?
"No, I don't think so. I don't think that's realistic with my schedule and everything. I would like to take an official to Colorado since I normally wouldn't be able to get out there. I might take one or two more others too."
Over the summer Bedle visited Michigan and Michigan State and enjoyed both trips. When would he like to make his decision?
"I'll probably have a decision made by the end of the year. It's not something I'll wait until February to do."
Through five games Keyport boasts a perfect 5-0 record and Bedle has been a big part of that success. He has more than 500 yards receiving and six touchdown catches.
