Bedford a wanted man

Independence (Kan.) Community College saw its season come to an end this weekend with a 13-9 loss to Hutchinson on Sunday in the NJCAA Region VI Football playoffs. But with the end of the season now here, four-star defensive end David Bedford can now focus totally on the recruiting process.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 9 junior college player in the nation and his list of teams chasing after him is rather long. He recently took in Iowa State on an unofficial visit, but he said he's working hard on setting up official visits and favorites now that his year is over with.

"My newest offer is from West Virginia, and I'm going to visit them in early December," he said. "I think that's set up for Dec. 7. Right now my top teams are South Florida, Ole Miss, Kansas State, Arkansas and West Virginia. I'd probably say my top two are South Florida and West Virginia."
Bedford said he's also talked with Kansas State about setting up a Nov. 17 official visit for the Wildcats' game against Missouri, but he might also take unofficial visits to both Kansas or Kansas State. But make no mistake it seems like USF and West Virginia look to be high on his list.
"At West Virginia, I like their consistency," Bedford said.
"I don't have to worry if one year we're going to be good and the next we're not. Then South Florida is back home for me. So it'd be nice to go back home. I watched the USF vs. West Virginia game. I was rooting for West Virginia because I have a friend that plays there."
Either way, don't expect Bedford to make a decision any time soon.
"I'll probably make my decision right around signing day," he said.
