Beck talks Cal commitment

During a ceremony at Bellflower (Calif.) St John Bosco in May, three-star cornerback Traveon Beck committed to Cal. A few weeks later, UCLA got seriously involved in his recruitment and Beck said he would at least take the Bruins seriously. But after considering his recruitment and the two schools the three-star has decided to shut it down completely and stick with the Golden Bears.

WHAT'S NEXT?: With his recruitment behind him and his decision to stick with his Cal commitment Beck is completely focused on his senior season. It started with a bang last weekend as St. John Bosco defeated La Mirada, Calif., 76-8 in the season opener.
IN HIS WORDS: "I'm very happy," Beck said. "It really just helps me focus a lot on the season. We have a great team this season and I just want to put all my focus into them and making plays to help this team win a championship. All my life it was always UCLA or Cal and I told myself whichever one offered first that's where I would be. As soon as Cal offered I committed a few days later."
RIVALS' REACTION: After some consideration about taking a look at UCLA, Beck has backed off that and is completely committed to Cal. There is no reason to think he doesn't stick with the Golden Bears.
