Beavers set to land good one

Stockton (California) running back Chris Henry is gushing over Oregon State. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound three-star athlete is leaning but still has one visit to go.
“Well, I’ll probably have a decision next Sunday night,” Henry said. “And I’m pretty sure right now it’s going to Oregon State.”

“Arizona looks Ok. Their facilities look great, and their campus looks okay too. They look good from what I saw in the brochure.”
So what sets Oregon State apart from Cal and Arizona?
“Well, I liked Cal, but Oregon State was just better,” Henry said.
“I feel like (Oregon State’s coaches) are more sincere. I mean, you can always tell that they want you to go to their school, but they seem interested in helping me make the best decision for me.
“The environment is totally pressure free. They aren’t pressuring me to commit at all. The coaches seem to be looking out for my best interests, and want to help me make a good decision.”
Henry also has some other concerns about Arizona. He has serious questions about the job security of coach John Mackovic, and he worries about the environment at Arizona after the mini-mutiny.
“I really think that it’s a big concern,” Henry said. “That would be one of the main reasons that I wouldn’t go there. There seems like there is no stability in that situation. I don’t want to go down there and wind up on an island with a new coaching staff.”
However, it still seems like Oregon State became the leader in this race because of the effort they showed this three-star sleeper.
“They’ve been with me from the start,” Henry said. They told me I could play offense, and I don’t think they are just saying that like they are at some of the other schools.
“They said I could redshirt a year and play offense as a redshirt freshman, or I could play as a true freshman on defense. They said that they’d leave it up to me. I really appreciate their honesty.
I also really like the way they show me I’m important. I mean, coach Erickson came to my house. Everybody in the house was like ‘I can’t believe Coach Erickson is sitting on our couch.’ It really showed me that they cared about me as a prospect, to have the head coach come to my house.”
Henry says that he hopes to have his decision next Sunday. He is a California top-100 selection.
