Beavers sees interest rise, talks visits

Defensive end Jeton Beavers out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Bayside is starting to contemplate visits. Who is the 6-foot-5, 249-pounder looking at in the near future?
"I might take an unofficial to North Carolina," he said. "I've got to call their coacht o see if I can schedule one.

"I know for sure I'm taking a visit to East Carolina too."
The Pirates continue to be the lone scholarship for Beavers.
"They just keep sending me a lot of good luck letters, most of them handwritten from the head coach," he said. "They are just checking up on me and updating me on their games."
A couple new schools are showing more interest in the lineman.
"I got a couple letters I wasn't expecting from Marshall," he said. "I may schedule a visit there. North Carolina came to one of our games and they asked about me and want me to send some tape."
Primarily Beavers is focused on his academics and making sure he's set there.
"I have a couple challenging classes this year, but there is nothing I can't work to fix," he said. "I'm just trying to stay focused and I'm going to keep retaking the SAT until I get the score I want."
Beavers and Bayside are off to a 3-0 start.
"The season is going fine," he said. "I'm working through a shoulder injury. I played through it against Landstown, but if I don't have my range of motion they won't let me play this week.
"So far this year though, I've done well. I've had a sack in each game, two against Cox. I should have had more. I'm in better shape this year and my technique is getting better too."
