Beavers lands early offer

DJ Beavers had a huge sophomore season and his recruitment has already started to get busy.
The Encino (Calif.) Crespi outside linebacker recently added his first offer from Cal and even though he doesn't know much about the new staff yet, Beavers is definitely excited to already be on the board.

"They verbally offered me," Beavers said. "It's my first one.
"It means a lot to me. It shows that I'm doing something right and I have a lot of things to look forward to. I don't really know too much about that new staff. I haven't been up there either so I don't know too much. It's pretty preliminary."
Encino Crespi is a hotbed for football talent so numerous coaches have been by the school leading up to signing day.
That means Beavers, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect who looked good at the Army National Combine in San Antonio recently, has talked with numerous coaches early on.
Oregon, Oregon State and Arizona have been three teams he's chatted with.
"I met a lot of coaches and I've gotten a lot of letters but that's pretty much it," Beavers said.
One school that definitely stands out early on is USC.
Beavers, who finished with 75 tackles this past season, said he hasn't heard much from the Trojans yet but he grew up a fan of that program and it might be tough to turn down if USC happens to offer later in his recruitment.
"I want to hear from USC," Beavers said.
"It's always been my favorite team. It's around my house and that's always been the school where I wanted to play."
