Beavers land gunslinger

The Oregon State Beavers landed a huge commitment when they landed their quarterback of the future. The new Beaver signal caller attended Oregon State’s football camp and obviously impressed.
The field general that is Oregon State bound is Sean Canfield (6-3 ½, 203, 4.94) from Carlsbad, Calif., his brother confirmed to Rivals.com.

Canfield has seen his stock grow by going on the camp circuit and making believers at every camp.
Beaver offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Paul Chryst was able to first get an up close look at Canfield at the adidas camp held at UCLA.
Canfield was outstanding that day.
In Canfield the Beavers get a classic southpaw drop back quarterback who throws a very catchable pass and has tremendous touch. He has good mechanics and is mobile within the pocket. Canfield has excellent size and a huge upside.
Canfield has been wowing them since his sophomore season when was selected first-team all-state underclass. All Canfield did was lead Carlsbad high school to the San Diego CIF Section Division I championship as a sophomore.
Hit by heavy graduation as a junior, Canfield still shined. Canfield hit on 152 of 266 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. His performance was good enough to earn all-league and all-state (HM) underclass honors.
The Beavers win the services of Canfield over another from UTEP. He had other interest from UCLA, Washington, Colorado, Oklahoma, San Diego State, and Wyoming.
Nice get for the Beavers and Mike Riley.
