Bears close to landing kicker

The Cal Bears are on the verge of getting one of the best walk-ons of the year in Concord (Calif.) De la Salle place-kicker Tony Binswanger (6-2, 182, 4.6). Binswanger has without a doubt one of the strongest legs that Rivals has seen in person all season long.
Binswanger has dynamite in his right leg and the Bears are the team that looks like they are going to be the beneficiaries of the talented place-kicker from the East Bay.

One thing that is for certain, if De la Salle needed the services of a field goal kicker more often, Binswanger would have a scholie offer.
Binswanger only had six opportunities for field goals and he hit on four of them with a long of 47 yards.
Binswanger has let Cal know that he is willing to be a “preferred walk-on” for the Bears but that he will keep his options open until LOI day.
Notre Dame, Oregon and late entry San Jose State could still lift this talented kicker from Cal with an offer.
If no one offers Binswanger look for Cal to get a talented place-kicker cheaply.
If Binswanger ends up at Cal and wins the place-kicking job, the Bears will scholarship the powerful legged kicker from De la Salle.
