“I went to Miami and loved it don’t get me wrong,” Williams said. “But Cal fits my lifestyle more than Miami.”
“I like the Cal coaching staff and like the turnaround the Bears have made,” Williams said. “I want to be part of it.”
“Cal said I could play either of the three linebacker positions,” Williams said. “But I feel better suited for the Will or Sam, but I prefer playing Will.”
Though the opposition avoided Williams like the plague in 2003, he still racked up 94 tackles, six sacks, four fumble recoveries and one pick.
Williams also contributed on offense rushing for 738 yards and scored 11 touchdowns.
Williams senior season performance helped lead Grant to a 12-2 record and a 14-6 victory over Stockton (Calif.) Edison in the Sacramento-Joaquin Section Division I title game.
