Bearcats, Tigers interested in 2015 TN WR

MORE: RB Thomas gaining interest
Class of 2015 Medina (Tenn.) South Gibson wide receiver Airan Reed is trying to become the first player in school history to earn a Division I football scholarship, a fact that excites him.

"I'm the first one getting recruiting exposure," Reed said. "I'm trying to be the one to put us on the map as a football school."
So far, schools are taking notice. Reed took a visit to Cincinnati earlier this fall and will visit Memphis this weekend.
"Cincinnati is starting to look at me hard," he said. "I took my unofficial visit there Nov. 9. It was great. They played SMU and it started off rocky, but they picked it up and played a good game."
Reed said he got a chance to meet several of the Bearcats coaches and now thinks the school has legitimate interest in him.
"The coaches were great," he said. "The team is having a great season. I really want to see how they play against Louisville this week. Coach (Tyson) Helton wanted to get me back for that one, but I already had plans. He said they'll be coming to see me at my school in the spring, too."
When it comes to the Tigers, Reed said he thinks he'll know a lot more about how much interest they have following his trip this weekend.
"I haven't been talking to them much," he said. "When I take my visit that will be the first time I meet the coaches in person. But they're sending me mail all the time - last Friday I got six letters from them alone, so we'll see how it goes in person."
In order to receive more attention, Reed said he'll be busy on the summer camp circuit, with trips to Ole Miss, Arkansas, Vanderbilt and West Virginia on his schedule.
