Beamer Names Big East Leader

A few days have elapsed since his visit to Pitt, but the impact it left of Vince Beamer hasn't subsided. He has narrowed his list of possible schools to two, and he has a leader.
"My top two schools are Pittsburgh and West Virginia," said the 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety. "Pitt is on top right now. I had a really nice time on the visit last weekend and I'm still thinking about it all the time."

Beamer is ranked the No. 13 player overall in Pennsylvania and is one of the top safeties in Pennsylvania because of his size and speed. His host was Troy Banner, a sophomore defensive linemen.
"We toured the buildings and checked out all the academic opportunities. At night we went to a basketball game. It's a really nice area. I would say the visit and just the overall positive atmosphere you get from the program has made Pitt my No. 1 school."
While Beamer said numerous times that Pitt was his favorite, don't count out West Virginia.
"I'm still going to visit West Virginia (Jan. 10) and the decision will probably come after that. I don't really want to wait until the last minute, so I'll pick a school not long after that visit.
"My dad's favorite is Pitt, because he got a chance to go on the visit and loved it. The biggest things for me in the end will be how the players and coaches interact, because I'll be in those shoes somewhere next year, and I want that to be a nice fit."
