TYRONE, Ga. — Justin Beadles has had a very exciting week. Not only did he pick up his first scholarship offer, but he picked up his first two and the second one came from his childhood favorite.
The 6-foot-5, 205 pound edge rusher out of Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek grew up in the Peach State, but his favorite team was LSU. When he received news of an offer from the Tigers Wednesday, he barely held onto the phone.
IN HIS OWN WORDS
"LSU is my dream school, so this offer was big for me," said Beadles. "I train with Arden Key, so I am a big fan of his. Then also guys like Jarvin Landry, Odell Beckham and some others are ones that I have watched play there.
"Working with Arden, he has told me about the culture, how it is fun to be there and how the coaches push you and make you love the game of football.
"I almost dropped the phone when I was told about the offer. My mom called me, she had coach Corey Raymond on the call too and I could not believe the news I got. Coach Raymond told me that he likes my size, speed, film and that I have a committable offer from LSU and I just couldn't believe it.
"I was thinking about the hard work, the time in the weight room, all the praying I have done, and it is really because of God that I got the offer.
"LSU was my dream offer, so they are definitely on top of my list. I don't think it has completely sunken in yet that I have this offer. I cannot wait to get out there for a visit."
RIVALS REACTION
LSU is the second school to offer Beadles. He was offered by Mississippi Valley State first earlier this week. He said Georgia has reached out and he is expected to talk with the Bulldogs in the near future. Coastal Carolina and Eastern Kentucky are two others that are showing interest. Beadles is planning to visit LSU in April. He is a new name on the recruiting scene, so he is excited about the journey ahead.
