BCS offer comes for LB Parson

Offer No. 1 came this past week for Woodbridge (Va.) Woodbridge Senior linebacker Darius Parson. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder landed the scholarship from a BCS program.
"I was speechless, it was very exciting," he said. "Syracuse was my first offer and a lot of other schools are interested and ready to offer. I just have to do some work in the classroom and then it'll be official."

What does Parson know about the Orangemen?
"I don't know much about them, but I've watched them on TV a couple times and it's a great school to go to. I'm doing some more research on them."
A variety of other schools including Boston College, Towson, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina and more are interested.
"They definitely want me to come to camp," he said. "I know I'm going down to Virginia Tech's camp this weekend. I'm going to James Madison and a few others too."
Parson mentioned that three schools have caught his eye early.
"I do like a few, Michigan State I like a lot, Virginia Tech I like a lot and I kind of like Pittsburgh," he said. "I haven't heard from Pittsburgh aside from a letter saying they looked at me video. Pittsburgh is in Pittsburgh though and it's in the city and it's a laid back school that is nice.
"Virginia Tech is a powerhouse in football of course and I love that school. Michigan State caught my eye this year and I've really gotten into Michigan State."
With college interest growing, Parson reflected on a few things he's looking for in a college.
"Well, I want to major in communications or business management," he stated. "As far as the football program, I want a program that is successful and hopefully somewhere I'll get in as a player."
Parson earned first team all-district, second team all-region and first team all-state underclassman as a junior after posting 121 tackles, three sacks and one interception.
Also a talented basketball player, Parson averages 13-points and is getting a few looks there as well.
