BCS offer comes for FCS commit

A BCS offer came on Tuesday night for Roanoke (Va.) Cave Spring quarterback Josh Woodrum. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder committed nearly a month ago to Liberty. Did the offer change his thoughts at all?
"I got the offer on Tuesday night from Wake Forest," he said. "I told the coaches, 'Thanks for the offer, but I'm sticking with my commitment.'"

Did Wake Forest say what made them finally pull the trigger?
"They said they really liked my size and athletic ability and how they can mold me into their offense," he said. "They had three guys already offered and those guys committed, so I was the next person on the list and I fit their scheme well."
The two-star prospect was honored to get the attention from the ACC, but discussed what made him stick with Liberty.
"It's nice to have the offer," he said. "I'm gonna stay with my commitment.
"I went down there for their junior day and I had never been before. Coach Rocco offered me that day and I had already been through his filter system, I was big enough, smart enough and fit all the criteria he wants in a quarterback.
"He told me on that visit, I just want you to know all this could be yours. I fell in love with all the facilities and the coaches are great. They are great people. Plus, they have exercise science and maybe I could mentor at the school after I graduate to move my career that way. I also really like the scheme there, it's a lot like what my high school runs. My fit for there is perfect. There are too many good things and absolutely no bad things."
With recruiting past him, Woodrum is now focused on the season and that starts on Friday night against Staunton River.
