BCS offer comes for big MD receiver

Columbia (Md.) Atholton wide receiver Matt Robinson pulled his first BCS scholarship this past weekend. The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder landed the offer from the ACC.
"I got an offer on Saturday from Maryland," he said. "They really liked me film and wanted me to come to camp and run well. I did and then did well in one-on-one drills.

"That's when I met with Ralph Friedgen. He just said he really liked my film and they had questions about my speed, but figured them out. They are looking at me as an athlete, with 20-pounds I could be an H-back, if not I can be a special teams guy and a safety."
Robinson is considering more trips soon.
"I was thinking about going to Rutgers this weekend and Wake Forest in July. I'm not totally sure yet," he said. "I already have been to Delaware and Pittsburgh. I did well at Pittsburgh. I thought Akron and Ohio were close to offering on the spot, but they want to see more film. Pittsburgh said they'll wait till their other camps are over and may want to see my senior film."
Does Robinson like anybody?
"I really like Maryland," he said. "That is my hometown school and I've always loved their football program. I went around the coaches and took a tour of campus over the weekend and saw their business school. I really like it, it's one of the top ones in the nation."
With a BCS offer in hand, is Robinson closing in on a decision?
"I'm not entirely sure," he said. "I've got to talk it over with my family and see if I'm going to check out any others."
Robinson posted 15 receptions for 210-yards and four touchdowns as a junior. He added 74 tackles, six pass breakups and two forced fumbles on defense.
