BC Picks Up Four-Star DE

Little did BC football fans know, but Gloucester, Ma. star defensive end Jim Unis was a BC commitment as far back as early last week.
"We wanted to keep it quiet so we could tell the other schools and Jim just wanted to announce just one time at the All-America banquet last night," said Unis' mother. "Jim doesn't like talking to a bunch of people so he figured he'd just make the announcement then."

Unis, a 6-foot-5, 240-pounder who can also play tight end, chose the Eagles for a few simple reasons.
"Every time he came home from BC he wanted to commit," he said. "We kept telling him to take it slow, but he was at his uncle's house last week and got off the phone with some coach, I don't know which school. He came home after that and said 'I just want to call BC and let them know I'm coming.'. I don't know what happened on that call, but he's very happy with his decision and feels like a weight is off his back."
Unis, a four-star defensive end and the 9th-ranked weakside end in the country, chose BC over offers from Notre Dame, Texas A & M, Southern Cal, South Carolina, Michigan, Michigan State and many others.
