BC grabs Texas receiver

Houston (Texas) Strake Jesuit wide receiver Christian McStravick received his Boston College late last week, and he had a feeling he might end up an Eagle.
Monday morning, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound pass catcher decided it was time to make the call.

"I mean there were a lot of factors that went into it, but it has a really strong football program for awhile now. That's obviously one of the main factors," McStravick said. "The coaching staff was great, really nice, and just really confident in me really. I I just like the campus and everything felt right."
McStravick visited Boston College last week and there was a point in the visit when it hit him that Chestnut Hill would be his future home.
"It was about halfway through the visit," McStravick said. "It was after the camp when I was taking my tour through the campus. As I was walking through I realized that it really felt right."
Boston College's efforts were led by special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach Coleman Hutzler, and he along with the rest of the Eagles' coaching staff also made a strong impression.
"Coach Hutzler has been talking to me for a few months now," McStravick said. "He's always been talking to me and keeping me interested in BC football. He's been great. Then when I came up there he was as nice as he could be. The whole coaching staff did really well to get my attention."
McStravick recorded 749 yards and eight touchdowns on 45 receptions as a sophomore, and recorded 739 yards and nine touchdowns on 44 receptions as a junior. Boston College feels like he could
"They said they really like throwing deep balls and that's kind of like my specialty," McStravick said. "They said my size and speed was perfect for what they're looking for. They said hopefully I'll be getting the ball a lot."
He earned district co-offensive newcomer of the year and first-team all-district honors as a sophomore, and first-team all-district honors as a junior. He is also a standout in the 400m and 4x400m in track.
McStravick is the 12th commitment of Boston College's 2016 recruiting class.
