BC gets second Monday pledge

The Boston College Eagles got two commitments in one day on Monday as tight end Ryan Purvis and another top target both pledged.
"I committed to BC," said 6-foot-2, 239-pound linebacker Tom Walls from West Deptford, N.J. "I had liked BC for a long time now, but I didn't want to make a decision based on the emotions from my official visit. I decided to wait a little while, play my season, and then come back to it.

"I talked it over with my parents last night and decided it was time. BC has everything I want in a school -- great academics, nice people and a chance to play early."
Walls will be a middle linebacker for the Eagles. He has more than 100 tackles so far this season in leading his team to an 8-0 record. On offense, he has 1,070 yards rushing and 22 touchdowns.
"I'm happy it's over," said Walls, who chose BC over offers from Iowa, Maryland and more than a dozen others. "This is what I wanted and I have a great opportunity at BC."
