BC adds local commitment

Brockton, Mass. athlete Tyronne Pruitt knew he wanted to go to one school and one school only. When he finally got his offer, he jumped.

"Tyronne committed to Boston College today," said Pamela Pruitt, the mother of the 5-foot-11, 205-pounder. "That's where he's always wanted to go, even when he got different offers he always felt it would work out there. BC told him they wanted him for a while now, but we told him not to put all his eggs in one basket. He wouldn't listen, but it worked out well."

Pruitt recently received offers from Syracuse and Michigan State and was thinking about visiting one of them this weekend before BC called.

"He's very excited about it," she said. "I can't tell you how much he wanted to go there."
