Bayou sleeper waking up to colleges

Lafayette (La.) Carencro is always home to some of the top players in Louisiana. And it’s also home to a sleeper offensive tackle prospect that is starting to wake up to the college coaches.
“I’ve gotten calls this month from LSU, Auburn, South Carolina, Indiana, ULL, Kansas State and Louisiana Tech,” said 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive lineman Dwight Alexander. “I have offers from Indiana, ULL and South Carolina. I really like LSU, Auburn and South Carolina.

“But Kansas State was a new team that called me for the first time. I don’t know much about them since that was the first time I heard anything from them. I might have to check them out too.”
What schools see when they check out Alexander, ranked as the No. 29 player in Louisiana, is a big body that has great feet.
“I’m best at run blocking,” he said. “I love to drive block and get down on a guy and put him to the ground. I’ve really worked hard at improving my pass blocking, too. I think that’s what I’m most improved at.”
