Bayou safety on the rise

Hammond, La., Troy Giddens is a beast on film and don't be shocked if he's ranked rather highly when the Louisiana state rankings come out next week. Giddens picked up an early offer from Ole Miss, but has since added two new offers.
"Ole Miss has been on me for a while and they offered me pretty early on," Giddens said. "UCLA and Nebraska has offered me now and Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn and LSU called me and came by and have been showing me a lot of interest here in the last month or so."

The 5-foot-11.5, 201-pound Giddens runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds, has a 32-inch vertical jump and a 295-pound bench press.
"This weekend I am going to camp at Texas A&M and Auburn," Giddens said. "I will be at A&M on Saturday and Auburn on Sunday. It is going to be a busy weekend, but I have wanted to check out both of these schools and I will get to this weekend. I am also going out to UCLA later this summer."
As a junior Giddens collected 83 solo tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
"One of the main things I am looking for in a school is early playing time," Giddens said. "I don't care about distance or anything like that as long as I get to play early. Most schools are recruiting me at safety or linebacker and I am fine with that because I love to hit."
Recruiting interest is on the rise for Giddens and several teams are in the mix for his services.
"I don't have a leader or anything, I am still just looking at several schools," Giddens said. "Ole Miss, UCLA, Nebraska, LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn and Tennessee are all schools that I am looking at real hard right now."
