Bayou big man has Auburn on top

Mandeville (La.) Fountainebleau offensive lineman/defensive tackle Rudy Odom has quickly become one of the South’s most sought after big men and he now has a top five.
“I am up to 19 offers right now,” Odom said. “My top five right now would be Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss, South Carolina and LSU. All of my top five have offered me a scholarship except LSU.

Auburn is probably No. 1 on my list right now. I have been there and I have seen some of the facilities and met the coaches and stuff like that. They are playing great football right now. I really felt like they were going to have good team this year and have a chance to win a lot of games.”
The 6-foot-5, 267-pound Odom runs the 40-yard dash in 5.08 seconds, has a 345-pound bench press and 495-pound squat.
“So far this year I have been to two LSU games and I went to a Louisiana-Lafayette game with a friend,” Odom said. “I was supposed to go the Auburn-LSU game, but that got messed up because of Hurricane Ivan. Coach Dunn and coach Knox wanted me to come over for the Georgia game and I am going to that. That is going to be a great game, both teams are just awesome.”
As a junior, Odom recorded 65 tackles, five sacks, 27 hurries, 15 tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries and batted down six passes in nine games from his defensive line position.
“Right now I have not set up any official visits,” Odom said. “I will probably end up taking all of my visits when our season is over. We don’t have a bye week and it would be really hard to get somewhere after a game on Friday.”
So far this season Odom has 42 tackles, nine tackles for loss, four sacks, two caused fumbles and four pass break-ups through just four games.
