Barrington, Ill. offensive tackle prospect Dan Doering (6-foot-6, 280 pounds) has now landed two additional offers this week, from National Champion LSU and Indiana. Doering is now up to 16 scholarship offers this spring.
“I received an offer today from LSU," Dan Doering said. “We called the LSU coaches after I received the paperwork and I talked to both Coach Saban and Coach Williamson. They seemed like really good guys. They mentioned that they saw my highlight tape and decided to make me an offer. I'm very flattered about getting an offer from LSU, I realize that they seldom recruit in Illinois, as well as the fact that they were co-national champions last year."
"Indiana also sent a scholarship offer, and it's great to be able to have so many options this early. I was hoping to have some early offers, but at this point I never imagined that I would be sitting here before April 1st with 16 scholarship offers."
Doering will be on the road tomorrow (Thursday) along with his teammates Andy Laue and Otis Hudson, as the Barrington trio will visit the University of Michigan. Doering will then visit the University of Illinois this coming Sunday.
Dan Doering currently has scholarship offers from LSU, Indiana, Purdue, Tennessee, Boston College, Notre Dame, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Southern Cal, UCLA, Michigan, Michigan State, Arizona, Illinois and Northwestern.
