Baylor offers in-state athlete

The first scholarship offer is in hand for Winnie (Texas) East Chambers athlete Tramain Thomas.
According to coach Tony Valastro, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound Thomas received his first offer from Baylor about a month ago. Many other schools are also on the mind of the talented prospect who will most likely be a strong defensive player for whichever school he chooses.

"Well, he talks about TCU, Texas Tech, and some others," Valastro said. "I think he's definitely a secondary player as a cornerback/free safety type. He's got good enough hands to be a receiver, but I just see him playing defense."
Valastro says that he's not particularly sure of his favorites. One thing that may come into play is his desire to play basketball also in college.
"I think he's going to have some opportunities playing basketball," Valastro said. "He's the best basketball player I've been around and possibly one of the top two or three football players I've been associated with as well. He's just got a lot of ability and loves to play and compete."
Thomas is currently playing basketball and that has kept him from junior day visits.
