Baylor flips QB Charlie Brewer from SMU

Nick Krueger joined Rivals.com as a multimedia producer in 2011 and has covered recruiting in the state of Texas since 2016. He also co-hosts and produces Rivals' weekly podcast, Commitment Issues.

Baylor landed its quarterback in the class of 2017 with Austin-Lake Travis 3-Star recruit Charlie Brewer.

Brewer had been committed to SMU since the summer, but enjoyed a big 2017 season punctuated with a 6A state championship. Earlier in the month, teammate Cade Brewer decommitted from SMU to commit to Texas.

Charlie Brewer is the fourth commit in Baylor's 2017 class and the third since new head coach Matt Rhule was hired after the season. He finished this season completing 77% of his passes for 3,923 yards and 54 touchdowns. He also ran for nine touchdowns and 746 yards.
