Baylor commit Tate taking visit

Houston Cougar assistant coach Jason Phillips visited Hempstead (Texas) Baylor commit Chris Tate on campus Wednesday and the multi-talented athlete plans to recriprocate.
Tate (5-10 , 170-pounds) verbally committed to Baylor University prior to the season, but plans on taking an official visit to Houston this weekend. He hasn't set up his trip to Waco to date.

"I like Houston and want to check out the campus," Tate said. "I like the coaches and feel I need to check it out."
Tate dazzled opponents this season at quarterback, receiver and running back and demonstrated tremendous acceleration and speed, dominating on the Class 2A level.
"Chris is going to be a great skill player for someone," Hempstead coach Don Sargent said. "He is working on his academics very hard right now and not playing basketball. He is special in open space."
