Baylor camp: Top Performers

Recruiting Wrap: Williams is keeping an open mind and he is picking up offers from across the country. After a strong camp performance, Baylor offered too.
Performance: Williams was in full lockdown mode at cornerback and it is safe to say the Baylor coaches took notice. He has a stout build at 5-11, 172 and he used it to his advantage. He was very physical in press coverage, he was able to flip his hips and get downfield with receivers, and he was explosive out of the break to make a play on the ball.

OG
Patrick Hudson
Silsbee, Tex.
Recruiting Wrap: Hudson is committed to Baylor, but schools such as Texas and Texas A&M continue to pursue.
Performance: Hudson worked at offensive tackle during one-on-one drills and he did not disappoint. His footwork was very solid and he was able to keep up with the quickest defenders at camp. He stayed patient and did not reach or overextend, and he stayed low and kept a very good pad level. He also showed a very powerful punch which stopped many in their tracks.

OT
J.P. Urquidez
Copperas Cove, Tex.
Recruiting Wrap: Urquidez is committed to Baylor.
Performance: Urquidez is a long and lean offensive tackle prospect and he showed tremendous flexibility. He is able to get low and play with leverage against smaller guys. His footwork continues to improve. He loses his technique at times, but overall, it was a very impressive performance which saw him win more than he lost.

C
Clarence Henderson
Dallas (Tex.) Skyline
Recruiting Wrap: Henderson is keeping an open mind, but California, Rice, and Texas Tech are showing the most interest. He is being recruited on offense and defense.
Performance: Henderson is getting recruited on both sides of the ball, but there is no doubt he looks like a defensive player. He checks in around 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds and at Baylor's camp he spent the day at defensive end. His first step was explosive and he was able to get the outside edge on most of his opponents.
6
WR
Camron Buckley (2017)
Cedar Hill, Tex.
Recruiting Wrap: Buckley has received interest from several program and he recently grabbed his first offer from Houston.
Performance: Camron Buckley kept defensive backs twisting and turning with his fancy footwork. The Cedar Hill standout showed off his quickness and explosiveness as he came off the line. He was able to cut on a dime and change directions and many times defensive backs were left grasping at air as they tried to stay close.

DT
Joseph Wallace
Dallas (Tex.) Skyline
Recruiting Wrap: Wallace has no favorites, but Texas Tech and Washington are recruiting him the hardest. He plans to visit Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Washington in June.
Performance: Wallace just wins rep after rep and he has done it everywhere he has camped during the spring and summer. Sunday at Baylor, he showed an impressive first step, strong hands, and a variety of counter moves as he encountered his opponent. He is not the biggest defensive tackle (6-1, 315), but he is powerful and surprisingly quick.
8
OT
Anthonie Thomas
Houston (Tex.) Madison
Recruiting Wrap: Thomas is receiving attention from several schools but he has yet to receive his first scholarship offer.
Performance: There was not one prospect who drew more attention walking through the door than Thomas. All eyes were on the 6-7, 300-pound tackle and he did not disappoint. He has come a long way in a short time and he showed some impressive feet to go with his size. He has also done a great job of redistributing his body weight and improving his flexibility and strength.
9
S
Darrion McClendon
Waco, Tex.
Recruiting Wrap: Colorado State, Montana State, and Fresno State are showing interest.
Performance: There was not a more physical defensive back at the camp. He is big (6-0, 183), so he used that size to his advantage as he forced opponent after opponent into the sideline. He struggles a bit in transition for a defensive back, but he did not get exposed much on Sunday. He had a great performance and is a guy who could be very effective as a safety/linebacker on the college level.
10
DE
Caleb Colvin
Owasso, Okla.
Recruiting Wrap: Colvin currently has an offer from Army, and is beginning to see interest build.
Performance: Colvin is a big defensive end and he passed the eyeball test. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive end made a quick impression during drills and when the action moved to one-on-ones, he stepped up against the best. He worked his hands well and he showed a quick first step and explosion off the ball. His day did end a bit early with a slight injury, but he left his mark before the end of camp.
11
DT
Nick McCann
Texarkana (Ark.) Arkansas
Recruiting Wrap: McCann has picked up offers from Baylor, Kansas, Texas Tech, and SMU over the last few months.
Performance: Like many of the top defensive linemen at camp, McCann put in some work at defensive end. However, he has the makings of a quick defensive tackle. He has a stout build and he is explosive coming off the ball. He needs to work on his secondary moves, but his first step was often good enough to get the best of his opponents during one-on-ones.
12
RB
Dominique Williams (2017)
Round Rock (Tex.) Stony Point
Recruiting Wrap: Arkansas, Washington, SMU, and Houston have shown early interest.
Performance: When it came to contorting his body to make a catch, Williams was at the top of the list. He made a few acrobatic receptions as he went over, around, and wherever else he had to go to make a catch. He did a great job of finding the ball and adjusting to make the catch and was on top of his game throughout the camp.
13
CB
Javelin Guidry (2017)
Cedar Park, Tex.
Recruiting Wrap: The recruiting process is just beginning for Guidry.
Performance: Guidry is only 5-9, 170, but he is a smooth, athletic, physical cornerback. He is smooth in transition and he was able to get in the hip pocket of receiver after receiver. He redirected a few guys during one-on-ones and at the end of the play he was there to make a play on the ball. He showed strong technique.
14
QB
Ty Brock (2017)
College Station, Tex.
Recruiting Wrap: Brock is receiving interest from Alabama, Baylor, and several other top colleges.
Performance: The College Station quarterback has a big arm and a smooth delivery. Brock was able to put the ball down the field with plenty of zip and accuracy. The ball popped out of the hands of the 6-foot-3, 175-pound quarterback, and he put the ball where his receiver had a chance to make a play on it.
15
S
DeMarkus Acy
Dallas (Tex.) Wilmer-Hutchins
Recruiting Wrap: Acy has scholarship offers from Arizona State, Kansas State, Kansas, Oklahoma, SMU, Texas Tech and others.
Performance: Acy is a long and rangy safety who does a great job of using his length to make up ground. He can get twisted up at times during one-on-ones, but overall he had a very strong day and was where he needed to be to make a play on the ball.
16
RB
Eno Benjamin
Wylie (Tex.) East (2017)
Recruiting Wrap: Benjamin has offers from Duke, Houston, Iowa, Kansas, Miami, Nevada, San Diego State, SMU, and Texas Tech.
Performance: It did not take long to spot the solidly built Wylie East running back. Benjamin (5-9, 193) showed off his quick feet, balance, and an explosive burst through the hole during running back drills. He also ran with a good forward lean and kept his chest down during drills.
17
QB
Avery Davis (2017)
Cedar Hill, Tex.
Recruiting Wrap: Davis currently has offers from Kansas, Oregon State, Texas Tech, and Utah State.
Performance: Davis may not be the biggest quarterback at 5-11, 188, but he can put the ball out there. He was threw with accuracy and velocity. He got the ball out of his hands with a quick release and he was able to make the short and intermediate throws as well as push the ball deep.
