Battle favors Houston, Michigan State

Miles Battle’s five scholarship offers don’t sit on equal ground. The Houston Cy-Creek High School wide receiver knows he could easily say they do, but he doesn’t see the point. Instead, he confidently names a pair of frontrunners without any pause over being a class-of-2018 prospect.

“It’s Michigan State and Houston,” Battle says. “Those are the two for right now.”

Battle, who grew up an Alabama fan says he thinks LSU and Texas A&M could be close to making things official with scholarship offers, but has no idea when such things could take place. Instead, he plans to check out the options he has as things stand.

“I haven’t made any visits lately, but I plan to visit almost all my offers," Battle said. "I’m visiting Houston in a couple of days.”

IN HIS WORDS: “Houston is doing really good right now,” Battle said. “A lot of us like them. We like that they’re trying hard to keep all the Houston talent in Houston.”

RIVALS REACTION: Houston and Michigan State are the leaders for Battle for now, but that’s subject to change. The class-of-2018 wide receiver has impressive physical tools and the potential to stack 25 offers. His recruitment will evolve this fall, but the Cougars and Spartans are likely to remain players throughout the year ahead.
